Battle of Brussels

·

·

Brussels in the county of Brabant, unlike the county of Flanders, has been deeply rooted in the Holy Roman Empire since 923. The city flourished as a bustling commercial centre, with cloth and fabrics flowing through its streets and trade routes stretching to England, France and Italy.

The town is governed by a council of 7 patricians from privileged lineages, and the influential Gilde Drapière regulates the cloth market.

The Gilde Drapière became the focal point for the Cainites who sought to increase their influence and resources in the city, by circling around these influential humans.

The stage was set for a fight.

A fire broke out when Flanders and Brabant clashed. The Flemish Ventrues sought to expand southwards, but they came up against a major obstacle: Ludmilla, who ruled Brussels and the surrounding area. Her hold on the city was inflexible, and no Kindred could take control without consequences.

The Flemish Ventrues, proud and determined, plotted to take over Brussels. Their ambitions extended to the mines and forges of the Walloon Ventrues, further south.

Brussels fell to the Flemish troops, but their victory was short-lived. Ludmilla was 3 moves ahead.

The Flemish Ventrues paid dearly for their breach of trust, losing more than they gained.

It’s very rare that Ludmilla go out of Brussels. It is told that she did. It is told that she headed north. It is told that the oldest of the Flemish Ventrue has disappeared forever.
