AI imagery
I dreamed about creating TTRPG books before, but it was unattainable without pouring large quantities of money into it. What about you?
While companies in the industry impose regulations to avoid problems like those offered by the Wild West, or out of fear of change, or to market their company with moral superiority, people are massively adopting these new tools that allow them to do what they wanted to do but couldn’t before. I’m one of them.
I studied infography. I love world-building, character creation, and weaving intrigue, but I’m not proficient in illustrations and my writing skills are average. We all know that illustrations and a well-presented book are crucial for a TTRPG book to attract attention. Without them, people may not even attempt to understand if the book is interesting or not. Of course, there are exceptions to this general rule.
Now with AI tools, we can produce decent work :
- AI imagery combined with skills in infographics amazes me with the results we can achieve.
- The challenge was to maintain coherent and consistent artwork with generative AI imagery, and I believe I’ve found a way to address that. You can share your thoughts about some images that I will include here.

Now, some people may cry out or argue that this is unethical and that using AI-produced work shouldn’t warrant payment because it’s created by AI, or that we should support traditional artists. To those critics, I would respond that while I utilize AI, it’s still my ideas, my vision, my energy, my time, and my final touch that imbues the work with personality. I strongly disagree with those who simply generate and use such content without any human intervention or reworking. There must be human involvement. I prefer not to invest in illustrations that would incur significant costs when I can leverage my skills in infography and with AI imagery to achieve far better results that align with the spirit of the book.
Technology enables us to enhance productivity and accomplish tasks that were previously impossible. We can either embrace it or resist it, and we know the consequences of resisting it.
