Capital of the European Union

In the Modern Era, the Belgian Camarilla thrived amidst an expanding international market and a surge in immigration, prompting Prince Lejeune to authorize controlled procreation to bolster the Camarilla’s ranks. However, Nikolaus Vermeulen grew uneasy, fearing the erosion of the Masquerade and the looming threat of a new inquisition.

During the Cold War, the relentless hunt for the Sabbat intensified, with the nomadic Gangrel joining forces with Prince Lejeune in exchange for titles and territories. Their prowess in battle decimated the Sabbat ranks, especially the Lassombra and Tzimisce. Despite resilient Beryns, their mysterious mastermind, Roerk Beryn, vanished, leaving Brussels with unanswered questions.

In a sinister alliance, Ventrue Primogen Frederik de Kastelweg struck a pact with the Beryns to enhance his dominance. The Beryns, wielding occult knowledge, imprisoned Margaret Grasset’s soul in a mortal vessel, weakening the Toreador clan. George Martin, Margaret’s son, assumed Primogen duties, guarding her body and unaware of the dark pact that bound her.

The Tremere clan, particularly Alexandru Vidich, took charge of the Elysium, unaware of the dark secrets around Margaret Grasset but taking advantage of the situation. George Martin, haunted by his sire’s absence, discovered Margaret’s captivity after five years through a sinister organization linked to de Kastelweg. They offered him glimpses of Margaret, on his allegiance at the Primogen table.

Faced with a chilling choice, George Martin chose a path of silent revenge. He feigned complicity in Margaret’s disappearance, sowing internal strife within the Toreador clan. The rumors of George’s ambition and betrayal intensified, creating discord with his infante, Elena Kin, the Harpy, who cherished her bond with Margaret.

In the shadows of Brussels, alliances crumbled, and secrets festered, setting the stage for a clandestine struggle where personal vendettas and dark pacts intertwined with the eternal struggle of Cainite politics.

If former Cainites in neighboring countries were still reluctant to extend their influence to Brussels, its status as European capital was the spark that lit the fuse. And they all needed a voice in beautiful Brussels. Indeed, having influence, voice, political clout or resources invested in Brussels at that time was a must if one wished to play on the international stage. And many Ventrue, but not only, were forced to do so, whether by competition, profit or the pleasure of power plays.

This is the last abstract about the history. We will explore further the characters, events, systems, location and many other of the city. What did you think about it all?
